Things have changed at the ARC. With Connor and Abby still missing in the Cretaceous, Danny stranded in his search for Helen, the ARC has been rebuilt, with a new building and a new team. This new ultra-efficient operation is thrown into disarray however when the Dracorex escapes from the menagerie, forcing them to mount a massive recovery operation. Meanwhile, after narrowly escaping an angry Spinosaurus, Connor and Abby’s luck seems to improve when they find Helen’s anomaly device buried in a raptor’s bower bird-like nest. They use the device to open an anomaly but before they can get through the Spinosaurus returns. Connor and Abby have to use all their wits to out-manoeuvre the beast but they eventually make it through. To their relief the anomaly has brought them ‘home’, into the waiting arms of a bemused Matt and a joyous Becker. That is, until Connor’s showing off manages to reopen the anomaly and let the Spinosaurus through! Becker, along with new field leader Matt, attempt to corral the creature back through the anomaly during a high octane chase, ending in a dramatic stand off inside a massive indoor arena. Connor inadvertently saves the day as he drops Helen’s device into the creature’s open mouth, triggering an anomaly. The creature implodes from within. But on returning to the ARC, new boss Philip informs Connor and Abby that they are no longer needed. They’ve been away too long. Will things ever be the same again? Meanwhile, Matt is meeting a mysterious stranger, who seems to know all about the ARC operation – is there more to Matt than meets the eye?

Die Folge beginnt damit, dass James Lester über die Geschehnisse zwischen Folge 3.10 und Folge 4.1 zusammenfasst. Er erwähnt, dass Abby, Connor und Danny vermisst werden, seitdem sie Helen Cutter durch eine Anomalie gefolgt sind. Dabei wollten sie bekanntlicherweise versuchen, zu verhindern, dass Helen die ersten Menschen umbringt und somit die gesamte Menschheit ausrottet. Lester meint, nachdem die Menschheit immer noch vorhanden ist, muss es ihnen gelungen sein, sie aufzuhalten. Allerdings gelten sie seitdem als vermisst.
Die eigentliche Handlung der Folge beginnt damit, dass Jess Parker panisch einen Hilferuf an Matt Andersen sendet, da sie versehentlich die Tür des Geheges des Dracorex geöffnet hat. Matt befindet sich zufälligerweise im selben Gang wie der Dinosaurier und versucht erstmal, sich alleine darum zu kümmern. Da der Dracorex aber ziemlich aggressiv zu sein scheint (er attackiert Matt sogar mit seinen Hörnern, wobei sich dieser gerade noch mit einem Stahltablett vor ernsthaften Verletzungen bewahrt), muss er seinen Plan ändern und funkt Becker an, von dem er Hilfe erbittet. Derweil macht sich der Dracorex davon und sieht sich im ARC um. Er stoppt schließlich bei einer Weggabelung, bei der er den Weg von Lester kreuzt, der wohl gerade auf dem Weg zu seinem Büro war, dass sich auf der Stirnseite der Weggabelung befindet. Auch Jess und Matt begeben sich zu der Weggabelung, beide nicht wissend, dass der Dracorex sich dort befindet. Da keiner von ihnen bewaffnet ist, ziehen sich die Drei vorsichtig an die Wände zurück und beobachten den Dracorex angespannt. Endlich erscheint Becker, der zusammen mit ein paar Soldaten anrückt. Doch da bemerkt Matt, dass der Dracorex von einem Wasserspender sehr zu fasziniert sein scheint. Er nimmt diesen in die Hände und lockt den Dracorex damit in den nächstbesten abgeschlossenen Raum - Lesters Büro. Dann gibt er dem Dinosaurier etwas zu trinken und sperrt ihn in das Büro ein. Lester ist davon allerdings alles andere als begeistert, da der Dracorex, nachdem er seinen Durst gestillt hat, sofort damit beginnt Lesters Büro zu verwüsten.
